My New Toy

A huge THANK YOU to everyone that took the time to enter the Artisana Organics giveaway on the blog! The winner has been announced on the original post and contacted via e-mail.

All weekend I have been playing with my new toy - the Silhouette Cameo. I am literally obsessed with this amazing device! Hazel is a little unsure of it and whenever I turn it on to work it's magic she has to come check it out.

The Cameo is an electronic cutting machine that can do the most amazing things. I have been playing with it, watching informational videos, and reading craft blogs like crazy this weekend. When Jon left for work this morning he told me to do something productive today - I guess he doesn't know that crafting and reading informational blog posts is productive! Ha!

I'm off to go create some fun holiday decor that I will share with you all soon!

Disclaimer: I did not receive this product for review. I purchased it myself and wanted to share because I love it so much!

After the holiday rush it seems like we have a nice break before other holidays start popping up. In all reality, Valentine's Day comes up quick and almost passes you by before you can get a gift for your loved one. I know that I have found myself on several occasions in the card aisle at Walgreens the day before so hopefully these ideas prevent that from happening to you!

All 5 of these gift ideas are great for significant others, teachers, friends, or co-workers and they work really well for the fitness-lover in your life.

Mother's Day Coupon Book

I'm back! Finals are officially over and I can blog my little heart out (at least for the next 2 weeks until summer classes start back up!) I hope you enjoyed Brittany and Miranda's guest posts while I was away.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mother's Day is just a few weeks away!
If you need a quick, and creative gift idea then why not print out one of my fun coupon books? This is perfect especially if you are busy on Mother's Day and can't spend one-on-one time with your mom because you can plan a few fun mother-daughter dates!
I know that my mom would rather have a lunch date at her favorite restaurant and a Starbucks break during one of her busy days at work than get a bouquet of flowers this Mother's Day.
Just print out the page, cut on the lines, and staple or tie together with a bow! Your mom is sure to love it.
Question
What are you getting your mom this Mother's Day? Do you like buying or making gifts better?
Easy DIY: Trash to Treasure (And A Winner)
Today is the day you all have been waiting for.. the announcement of the SPIbelt Giveaway winner! But first let's talk crafts!
I've had this empty truffles container sitting in my room for quite some time and the other day my mom made the comment that it would look really cute if I painted it or covered it with something.
Today we went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts and picked up a few things for my project. We found some fun scrapbook paper with giraffes on it. I absolutely love giraffes so this was perfect! We chose 3 different coordinating papers but you can use 1 color (if you want the whole container to be the same), 2 colors (if you want the lid and the bottom to be different) or 3 colors like I did.
The first thing we did was measure the width of the container. The paper didn't wrap all the way around the container so we had to cut another piece so the whole thing would be covered. I also cut the pieces for the edge of the lid and the top of the lid.
I then covered the container with mod podge and pressed the paper on. After it was covered I put more mod podge on top of the paper (shown below). I then sat it off to the side to dry and worked on the lid.
The result was a fun, revamped container!
