Blog Milestone

It's crazy to think that it has been roughly 4 months since I wrote my very first blog post.

I remember the first week or so that I started blogging I would be so excited when I had 4 or 5 page views for the day. Granted they were all from my mom and other family members but still it was exciting to see people were actually reading what I wrote.

Today marks the day that my blog has officially reached over 10,000 page views. If you were to tell me 4 months ago that I would hit that many views I would have thought you were crazy.

Throughout the last few months I have had so much fun blogging, met so many other wonderful bloggers, worked with some amazing companies, and learned a lot about myself. Overall it has been really rewarding and reaching 10,000 page views makes me really excited and shows me that I am doing something right with this whole blog thing!

Another exciting thing is seeing my name on other people's blogs! Today Amy wrote about how she did my Plank Sandwich workout! I have also been nominated for the Liebster Award by two other bloggers - Amy of Run with Perseverance and Anna of Herbivore Triathlete!

This blog milestone could have never happened without all of you! I want to thank you all for being such dedicated blog readers! Every comment I get, new subscriber, follower on Twitter, and new like on Facebook makes me extremely happy and makes me want to keep blogging.

So thank you for making this happen!

On a side note, if you haven't entered the SPIbelt giveaway yet then do so now! I am picking a winner on Wednesday!

8 Miles & A Giveaway

* This giveaway is closed *

Today was the longest run I have ever been on. I was supposed to do the long run yesterday according to the schedule but I did it today instead as I had much more time. I ran 8 miles and was aiming for a pace closer to 9 minutes but hey, I'll take it!

On the run I took with me a GU Energy Gel and my phone, in which I carried in my SPIbelt.

When I first heard about running belts and fanny packs that held all of your gels, keys, and phone I was very skeptical. I figured that they would bounce and be uncomfortable to wear while running. I honestly never thought that I really needed one because I always just carried my phone in my hand on my runs and wasn't using gels on my runs that were less than 6 miles.

Today was actually my first time using an energy gel and my first time running with the SPIbelt. If I didn't have the SPIbelt I would be running with my phone in one hand and a GU pack in the other which would get annoying.

The SPIbelt that I wore was the Original style and it fit perfectly. I put my phone and a GU pack in the pouch and took off for my run. The belt did not bounce, slide up on my waist, or feel heavy at all. I honestly hardly even noticed it was there!

When my Garmin hit mile 5 I stopped and had the GU gel. I had never had anything like it before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The consistency was really thick and gooey. I think that I would have liked to have something with a thinner consistency but the taste wasn't bad so that's a plus.

I was feeling good the last couple of miles but was sure glad to finish. Once I got home I iced my legs as they were a little sore and then got ready to go and celebrate my grandpa's 76th birthday!

Disclaimer: I received these products free of charge, however all opinions are my own.

Plank Sandwich

Today is going to be busy!

I am heading off to grab some lunch soon and do some last minute studying before my midterm. After that I am loading up my car, picking up my sister and then we are heading to get our taxes done and then we will be home for an entire week! I have no absolutely no plans yet so I need to think of some things to do and call up some friends to pass the time.

I want to share with you guys the ab workout I did last night after 30 minutes on the elliptical.

My abs are definitely feeling it today! I held each plank for 30 seconds but if you are feeling up to it you can hold it for 45 seconds or 60!

I'm not quite sure why this photo looks so blurry - I used PicMonkey and used the "High Quality" saving setting so if you have any tips to get it clearer please let me know!

Also if you haven't filled out my survey yet, please do! I appreciate all of your feedback!

Question

Do you have any fun weekend plans?
